EXCLUSIVE: In the wake of Warner Bros Discovery’s lure batgirl for HBO Max, it has brought out a silver liner for DC: Todd Phillips’ joker continuation, Joker: Madness for Two, will have a release date of October 4, 2024.
Warners had already put the day on hold for an untitled DC event movie, so it’s not shocking to see joker 2 end on the first weekend in October: Warners brought the October domestic opening to a record $96.2 million with joker in 2019. The film reached $335.4 million domestically and worldwide at $1.07 billion it is the highest-grossing R-rated film ever. joker won two Oscars: Best Actor for Star Joaquin Phoenix and Original Music Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir’s. The film was nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Phillips for Best Director.
Deadline learned of this from a recent update in Comscore.
As per Phillips’ social media post of the screenplay cover back in June, the sequel is titled Joker: Madness for two, which is a French reference for a medical term relating to a mental disorder that affects two or more people.
We hear a production start in December is on track for Joker: Folie à Deux.
As we reported earlier, one of the reasons is: batgirl was disconnected had to do with how it would disrupt the DC multiverse continuum being mapped on its way to The flash on July 23, 2023. David Zaslav-run Warner Bros Discovery wants to make DC a brand that can compete fiercely with Disney’s Marvel.
